I look away from the news for a little while and shit happens. Fortunately Crooks and Liars catches me up. And the nice thing about them is that the URLs are so descriptive.

The Supreme Court, which has been mostly Republican for a while now, has upheld an Indiana law requiring valid photo ID to vote. Most eligible voters who may not have either the resources or need for a valid photo ID tend to vote Democratic. If that law sounds more appropriate to 1908 than 2008, that's because it is.

In other news, John McCain is a relic of a man whose facade of reason has crumbled under his desperate punching and clawing for the power and prestige he feels he deserves. I really feel that he won't let himself die until he attains a position where he can destroy the vapors of the Communists who stuck him in a cage all those decades ago.

Let me repeat that. Supporters of a Republican Presidential nominee overwhelmed and shut down a state Republican convention.

You want a schism in one of the Big Two U.S. political parties? Don't look at Barack and Hillary, look at Ron Paul and John McCain.
